This weekend marks a busy time for Brunswick, GA. 

     Starting at 5 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. on Friday, Downtown Brunswick will be holding its monthly "First Friday".  This is a time when local businesses will stay open longer hours and give people time to peruse the streets, stopping in at the vendor stores, visiting local restaurants, and enjoying the internationally acclaimed southern hospitality!

     The Casino Theatre on St. Simons Island will be showing Agatha Christie's "Witness for the Prosecution".  Showing times will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings as well as 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.  It will run until the weekend of January 24th.   Ticket Prices are $20 for Adults and $5 for people under 18.

      On Saturday January 9th, the 2010 Miss Golden Isles and Miss Golden Isles Outstanding Teen Pagent will meet at the Ritz Theatre on Newcastle Street in Brunswick GA. Come cheer on the local beauties!

     And on Sunday, Sapelo Island's Hog Hammock Author Michele Johnson will be on hand at the Ashtantilly Center in Darien GA. as she shares her book on slave descendants, their resilience and their entrepreneurship.

After years of petitioning, pet owners have a new resource to utilize.  The Parks and Recreations department has announced that on December 24th, they opened the Blue Streak Dog Park. 

Located in the Howard Coffin Park, Blue Streak is a off leash dog park.  With a 6 foot fence enclosing the 1.25 acre park, dog owners have the opportunity to take thier pets into a fenced area, allow them to play off their leash, and socialize with other owners.  Your pet must be on a leash going into and out of the fence area. 

Dogs have reported that they love the facility!  They love the fact that they are allowed to run free without having to worry about where their owners are or what they are getting into.  There are bags and a trash can provided for the owners to clean up after their pets. 

So get out the house and let the dogs run loose!!

What is this plate missing? 

Some of Conrad Unnerstall's world famous Spaghetti and Meatballs!!  And you can have some at the model home located in Majestic Oaks.  On Wednesday December 2nd, from 11:30-1:30 p.m., we will be having an open house at the home, located at 162 Majestic Oaks Road in Brunswick, GA.  All are invited to see this beautiful home with hardwood floors, fireplace, sunroom, screened lanai, flex room, alarm system, custom window coverings and more. This great home has been reduced to $219,900 from its original price of $265,995.

But what everyone really is looking forward to is Conrad's spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, 7 layer chocolate cake, and the caramel cake!  I promise to put after photos up, just to rub it in to show everyone what a great time we had.

Kids Halloween Carnival in Brunswick and the Golden Isles of Georgia

The weather has started to get cooler, the leaves are changing; yep, Fall is finally here!  This has always been my favorite time of the year.  It may be the college football or it could be that I am an October baby.  October has always been my favorite month because it means birthday presents and candy.  That’s right; it’s trick or treat time.  Halloween must have been invented by a kid.  Because it’s the only day of the year where you purposively stock up on as much candy as you can and spend the next two weeks gorging on it! All while wearing a costume! 

Costumes and candy make me think of Glynn County Parks and Recreation’s Kid’s Halloween Carnival in Brunswick and the Golden Isles of Georgia is going to be so much fun.  This Halloween Carnival offers a bounce house, haunted house (designed for smaller kids), and a carnival with lots of games to play.  The location is Selden Park Gym in Brunswick, Georgia. Entrance fees will be $1.00 per person and $0.25 to play the carnival games.  $5.00 was never so much fun!!
